As part of continuous focus on gender equality in management, we aim to recruit a higher percentage of women in leadership roles, although we always hire the most suitable candidate for the job.
SDG 7 Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
7.1 By 2030, ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy services.
7.2 By 2030, increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix.
7.3 By 2030, double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency
Through our renewable energy products and solutions, we contribute to increasing access to sustainable and modern energy and to increasing the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix. In close cooperation with some of the world's largest wind turbine manufacturers and solar farm builders, we develop and deliver tailored products and solutions based on a rigorous assessment of the requirements for availability, sustainability, production efficiency and cost optimisation from a TCO perspective.
Today, more than 50 per cent of our business comes from the renewable energy segment, and we aim to increase this percentage by focusing on continuous development and integration of future sustainable technology.
SDG 9 Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
9. 1 Develop quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, including regional and transborder infrastructure, to support economic development and human well-being, with a focus on affordable and equitable access for all.
9.4 By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities.
9.c Significantly increase access to information and communications technology and strive to provide universal and affordable access to the Internet in least developed countries by 2020.
The Innovation Lab aims to spot, develop and design new solutions for e.g. energy efficiency, future communication technologies and power management/smart grid.
We use our extensive technical experience and know-how in infrastructure areas, such as transport, telecommunications, energy and automation, to improve global energy efficiency, increase access to communication technologies and increase the use of sustainable technologies and industrial processes. We have already developed power management solutions for the refrigeration industry that increase energy efficiency and product lifetime, and we have ongoing projects in the EV market. We help our customers replace old equipment with new and more sustainable technologies throughout their infrastructure.
SDG 12 Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
12.5 By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.
12.6 Encourage companies, especially large and transnational companies, to adopt sustainable practices and to integrate sustainability information into their reporting cycle.
Since 2012, Følsgaard has supported UN Global Compact and reports annually on the company's progress, and we encourage our partners to do the same through close dialogue and screening. We work continuously to find sustainable solutions and material choices and to reduce waste through optimisation, reduction, recycling and reuse throughout the supply chain. We set high standards for ourselves, and it is therefore natural for us to set the same high standards for all parts of the value chain.
Our choice of partners is crucial to our business and we are highly selective. We not only ensure that their products match our customers' requirements, but also that our suppliers are socially and environmentally responsible. We continuously evaluate our global suppliers and screen them on an ongoing basis to manage risks and optimise performance. Our long-standing close supplier relationships give us a unique opportunity to engage in constructive dialogues to develop sustainable alternative solutions for our customers and bring them to market quickly.
SDG 13 TAKE URGENT ACTION TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS IMPACTS
We develop and deliver technical solutions that help save energy and reduce CO2 emissions.
Følsgaard has made detailed plans for reducing our own footprint and CO2 emissions towards the goal of net zero by 2030.
